Open Monuments Day (Heritage Day) 2022

On Sunday 11 September the Jewish Cemetery – a national monument – was accessible to the public as part of the annual Heritage Day. Almost 1200 interested people visited the cemetery and participated in guided tours.
In the course of the day a short film on the cemetery was presented.
Participants could also visit the former washing house with its recently installed panels with information on Jewish burial traditions and, using QR-codes, follow a route along graves with written and spoken information on 25 well-known Jewish citizens of The Hague, buried here.
