On August 10, 2015 the cemetery was visited by two researchers of the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam. Subject of their visit was the graves of the direct descendants of Don Francisco Lopes Suasso, the second Baron d’Avernas le Gras (approx 1657 – 22 April 1710). After consulting the cemetery register on this website the researchers concluded that the cemetery contains more than 10 direct descendants. In total more than 60 members of the Suasso family are buried on this cemetery.
Francisco Lopes Suasso was banker and financier of the Dutch Republic and within the Sefardic community known as Abraham Israel Suasso. He lent 2 million Dutch guilders to Stadholder William III of Orange for financing the invasion fleet and army, that enabled William & Mary in 1688 to become King and Queen of England.
